The Jets are in danger of falling two games behind the Patriots in the AFC East with a loss to New England today, a fact not lost on some of the team's veterans.
"That's the thing that lot of people are pointing to, our football jerseys
first three games - Baltimore, New England, Miami," Jets right tackle Damien Woody said. "Everyone really wants to see how we're going to perform in those first three games. It's almost like the perception is our season is make-or-break in those first three games."
In the wake of the Jets clearly beating themselves in the loss the Baltimore, Woody said the next couple of opponents present problems because they likely won't beat themselves.
"We've got really good coaching in our division," Woody said. "When you play teams that are well coached, they don't make a lot of mistakes. Teams like New England and Miami . . . don't tend to make a lot of mistakes."
*** The Patriots signed former Jets running back/wide Bears jersey
receiver Danny Woodhead to their 53-man roster, according to multiple reports. Terms of the contract were not announced.
The Jets waived Woodhead, a third-year player out of Chadron State, on Tuesday.

In 13 games against New England - the most of any Jets offensive player - Cotchery has 46 catches for 745 yards (a 16.2-yard average) and five touchdowns.
*** Jets right guard Brandon Moore said he believes Bills jersey
"the confidence is still there" on offense.
"We don't think [Monday's night performance] was us. That was something we're definitely not proud of," Moore said. "You have to look at that and move forward and get better from there."
